Heavy police presence in Orlando West

Pretoria – There is a heavy police presence in Orlando West as residents took to the streets barricading roads with burning tyres this morning.

For the second day, protesters have barricaded some of the most famous streets in Soweto, including Vilakazi and Khumalo.

They are demanding that Eskom remove the prepaid electricity metres as they want to pay a flat rate for the service.

Police have advised motorists to use alternative routes. - SAnews.gov.za
