Condolences for family of liberation stalwart

Pretoria - President Jacob Zuma has conveyed his condolences on the sad passing of liberation struggle stalwart, former Robben Island prisoner and former President of the Pan Africanist Congress (PAC), Clarence Makwetu.

Makwetu passed away at the age of 88 on Friday.

"In Comrade Clarence Makwetu the nation has lost one of its true stalwarts and freedom fighters.

“We therefore wish to convey our deepest condolences to his family and his organisation, the Pan Africanist Congress. May his soul rest in peace," said President Zuma on Saturday. – SAnews.gov.za
