Cabinet congratulates national teams

Pretoria - Cabinet has congratulated the country’s national sporting teams Bafana Bafana, the Springboks and the Proteas for flying the flag high with their performances over the weekend.

Minister in the Presidency responsible for Planning, Performance, Monitoring, Evaluation and Administration, Jeff Radebe, said on Thursday the teams had made South Africa proud.

Last night, Bafana Bafana progressed through to the 2015 AFCON tournament. They beat Nigeria at a game played at Akwa Ibom Stadium in Uyo, Nigeria.

The 2015 Africa Cup of Nations will take place in Equatorial Guinea from January 17 to February 8.

At the weekend, the Proteas took on Australia and the Springboks clashed against Italy. – SAnews.gov.za
