Pretoria - The City of Ekurhuleni has called on business leaders, investors, property developers and asset managers to seize investment opportunities that the city will unveil at the Ekurhuleni Investment Conference in June.

The city will use the conference to share with investors the progress concerning its Aerotropolis project.

Ekurhuleni Executive Mayor Mzwandile Masina said the implementation of the Aerotropolis Masterplan seeks to ensure the crowd-in of strategic investments and to position the regional economy as an ideal destination for trade, tourism and investment.

“We believe through the effective implementation of the Aerotropolis Masterplan and other significant developments in the region, the potential and capability of the city will turn the tide in the socio-economic conditions of our people,” Mayor Masina said on Tuesday.

The Aerotropolis project is key in the investment promotion, attraction and facilitation of investment and development opportunities.

The two-day conference will start on 5 June at Emperors Palace Conference Centre.

The city said the conference will create a platform that will endorse the city as an investment destination of choice and accelerate the inflow of domestic and foreign investment.

The conference will further showcase key projects and developments of Ekurhuleni, as well as identify specific investment opportunities with a clear focus in Aeronautics; Manufacturing; Aviation; Fuel Cells; Urban Renewal; Plastics and Rubber; Natural Resources and Energy and High Tech.
