Pretoria - The North West Department of Health has invited young people under the age of 25 years with a matric exemption or bachelor pass in the province to apply for a scholarship to study medicine in Cuba.

“People with mathematics, physical science, biology and English are eligible to apply.

“Application forms are available at the department health offices across the province,” the department said in a statement.

Completed forms must reach the department on or before 30 April 2014.

“A history of active involvement in their communities, and the potential to be a dedicated and caring doctor will serve as an added advantage,” the department said.

The department said priority will be given to students from disadvantaged communities.

Candidates must be willing to serve in the rural areas upon completion of their studies. – SAnews.gov.za
