Boxing action returns to SABC 2 tonight

Walvis Bay - Communications Minister Faith Muthambi has urged South Africans to stay glued to their television sets to watch a live Boxing action match when it returns to SABC 2 tonight at 9:30pm.

Minister Muthambi, who is travelling from Walvis Bay, in Namibia, for bilateral engagements on digital migration, will be one of the dignitaries at the Birchwood Hotel, east of Johannesburg. While in Walvis Bay, the Minister also attended a conference of the SADC Ministers responsible for Communications, Information Communication and Technology.

“Its been almost five years since South Africans will be watching Boxing action on SABC television channels. We are appealing not only to Boxing enthusiasts, but to all television viewers to stay glued to their television sets and enjoy this Boxing action,” she said on Friday.

Tebogo Malose will be fighting Gauteng middleweight title holder, Walter Dlamini, while Zimbabwean Tapiwa Tembo will face the WBO international bantamweight champion Klaas Mboyane in a non-title contest

An event to launch the return of Boxing on SABC television and radio by the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) was held a week ago. It was attended by Sport and Recreation Minister Fikile Mbalula, Minister Muthambi and Boxing South Africa. - SAnews.gov.za
