Pretoria - Bafana Bafana are set to face Mali in the quarter final of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) at the Moses Mabhida stadium on Saturday.
This comes after Mali concluded their last group stage match in their pool (Group B) with a 1-1 draw against DR Congo at the Moses Mabhida stadium on Monday night.
The tournament’s new comers Cape Verde, who finished second in Group A following their win over Angola on Sunday, will play against Group B winners Ghana who beat Niger 3-nil in their last group stage match in Port Elizabeth on Monday night.
The teams that have been eliminated from the African showpiece from both Group A and B are Morocco, Angola, Niger and DR Congo.
Bafana Bafana last reached the Afcon knock-out stages at the 2002 tournament in Mali, where South Africa lost 2-nil to the host nation.
Group C will be decided tonight when defending champions, Zambia face Burkina Faso at Mbombela stadium in their final group stage match at 7pm. Nigeria will play Ethiopia at the Royal Bafokeng stadium at the same time. - SAnews.gov.za
