Pretoria – The prices of petrol and diesel will decrease on Wednesday, the Department of Energy says.

The main reasons for the fuel price decreases are the strengthening of the Rand against the US Dollar and the drop in the prices of all petroleum products during the period under review.

According to the department, petrol 93 Octane and petrol 95 Octane will decrease by 22 cents per litre, diesel 0.05% sulphur will decrease by 9 cents per litre and diesel 0.005% sulphur will decrease by 10 cents per litre.

Illuminating paraffin (SMNRP) will decrease by 3 cents per litre, illuminating paraffin (wholesale) will decrease by 2 cents per litre and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) will decrease by 47 cents/kilogram.

South Africa’s fuel prices are adjusted on a monthly basis, informed by international and local factors. – SAnews.gov.za
